The Chea family is gearing up to open a new Shipley Do-Nuts location at 763 Fish Creek Thoroughfare, Montgomery, TX 77316. This venture is not just a business move; it’s a family affair that brings together parents Keat & Ransy Chea, sister Somphors Enriquez, and brothers Somnang Chea & David Chea, with David’s wife, Tiffany Chea, taking the helm as the store’s operator.
Their journey with Shipley Do-Nuts began in February 2000 when Keat and Ransy acquired their first franchise. With three successful locations already under their belt, this new store marks a significant milestone as their first from-the-ground-up project, embodying the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and a deep-rooted passion for the Shipley brand.
Shipley Do-Nuts stands as a testament to the power of a good doughnut. Established in 1936, this beloved chain has spread its wings far beyond its Houston, Texas roots, offering a variety of doughnuts, kolaches, and beverages that cater to every palate. At the heart of its enduring success is a commitment to quality ingredients, traditional recipes, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.
David shares the excitement and challenges that come with this new endeavor. “This will be our first brand new build as the others were locations we purchased and turned around,” he told What Now Houston. The family’s collective experience in revitalizing existing stores sets a solid foundation for this venture, yet building anew brings its own set of expectations and opportunities for innovation and community engagement.
The process of building a new store from scratch is filled with anticipation and planning, aiming for a completion and grand opening in the Pine Market area around August or September 2024.
