It appears the Southern California fried chicken concept, The Crack Shack, is planning a new spot in The Heights. The Crack Shack recently announced its first planned storefront in the Houston area set to open at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy in the coming months.
A recent project filing lists a second location for The Crack Shack at 1541 N. Shepherd Dr., Ste. 100 in Houston. The 3,200-square-foot space will undergo interior and exterior work to include an outdoor patio and commercial kitchen. Construction could be complete this summer, but there is no word on when The Crack Shack in The Heights might open to serve diners.
The menu includes the Señor Croque with crispy Jidori chicken, bacon, fried egg, cheddar, and miso-maple butter on a brioche bun, as well as the Firebird with a spicy fried Jidori thigh, cool ranch, crispy onions, and pickles on a potato roll. Other menu options are bone-in fried chicken, chicken nuggets, bowls, and fries. For dessert, diners can enjoy cookies and seasonal shakes.
An investment from Savory, a Mercato Partners Fund, is helping to grow The Crack Shack brand. The Crack Shack CEO Michael Rosen founded the restaurant in San Diego in 2015.
