Tago’s Grand Opening in Midtown
Tago is a newly opened restaurant serving Tulum-inspired cuisine in Midtown, Houston. The 4,500-square-foot hot spot will serve Houston diners a fantastic blend of modern Latin cuisine, vibrant nightlife, and immersive design.
Tago’s interior offers a refreshing escape as the doors open to a tropical and breezy ambiance. Its expansive open-air patio spanning 2700 square feet has an inviting feel given the sand-toned furnishings and abundant tropical foliage, evoking the ambiance of a tropical beach retreat.
The color scheme of the place is vibrant and is perfect for lively evenings filled with delectable flavors. The bar’s design draws inspiration from a hidden cenote, with glowing lanterns and ambient lighting. The lighting and tunes set the mood from dinner until late at night. Tago transforms into a vibrant nightlife hotspot after 9 pm with energetic DJs and a lively crowd.
Signature Cocktails Inspired by Tulum
The summer offerings at the dining spot feature bold flavors crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that are in season. Light options like charred poblano guacamole and rich dishes like Pato en Mole Chocolate—all find a special place in Tago’s menu.
The kitchen offers a complete selection of dishes until 11 pm, after which a carefully curated late-night small bites menu is available until the bar closes at 1:30 am.
Fresh ingredients and premium spirits go well with signature creations in Tago’s cocktail menu. For instance, the Paradise in Tulum is crafted with Teremana Repo, triple sec, and blackberry with a dash of lime, topping it off with ginger beer.
The Mayan Muse, on the other hand, is an interesting combo of lemonade, pineapple, and Grand Marnier with a hint of cherry, and a personal bottle of Don Julio Reposado offering the final touches.
