Restaurant concept, Wild Oats, from Underbelly Hospitality is opening its second Houston location, tentatively set to open next summer. Wild Oats offers a fresh take on Texas cuisine, and the newest location will be at MLB Capital Partners’ mixed-use development at 1222 Witte Rd.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2023 at the corner of Witte Rd. and Westview Dr. in Spring Branch. Wild Oats will be near the new hike and bike trail and within walking distance of Spring Branch neighborhoods.
Wild Oats’ location on Witte Rd. will include more than 4,500-square-feet of space with seating capacity at 184 guests across the main and private dining areas, as well as the outdoor patio. The restaurant will be surrounded by greenspace and outdoor seating.
Partner Nick Fine opened the first Wild Oats location at the Houston Farmers Market in February of 2022. The restaurant pays homage to the culinary history of Texas, and Fine has curated a menu that showcases the ingredients, people, and cultures that make Texas one of the most diverse states in the country. The menu features wagyu chicken fried steak, Medina County steak tartare, and Texas chili, among other dishes.
