GolfTRK, a premier member-based indoor golf brand, is working on its first Houston opening. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new GolfTRK is expected to open within Robinson Plaza in Oak Ridge North at 27605 ROBINSON ROAD, Suite B.
“We’re ready to give golfers in The Woodlands another home,” CEO and Co-Founder Alex Reed said in an interview with What Now Houston.
“Your course is still there for the weekend round, the group outing, the stuff that makes golf golf. We’re just here for the other six days of the week, the season it’s too cold or too dark to play, the twenty minutes you’ve got before dinner. We want people in this community to have a place to actually keep the game going, year-round.”
The new facility will sit in the separate incorporated municipality of Oak Ridge North, though it is completely surrounded by The Woodlands area and the greater Conroe/Spring region. The location, amongst a few others in the Greater Houston region, is already listed as “coming soon” on the company’s website.
The franchisee at the helm of this opening is Tony Vinzant, who was listed on the permit. What Now also reached out to Vinzant but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
The permit further details that the $290,000 construction project is already underway and is slated to be completed by this November. The GolfTRK team shared that the goal is to open the 2,228-square-foot space by this winter, early 2027.
“As always, there are a lot of moving parts. Down in The Woodlands, we’re just waiting on a few dotted lines to get signed before we can start getting ready for the Grand Opening,” Reed said.
“Site selection always comes down to…is there real, dense golf culture in a community that doesn’t have anywhere near enough infrastructure to support it? The Woodlands checked that box immediately. There’s a growing golf community here without a real place to gather and put in consistent reps. The demand was there, the supply wasn’t, and once we saw that gap, it wasn’t a hard call. We knew this was a community worth putting down roots in.”
Reed founded the indoor golf training and franchise concept with Matt Williams, Sam Collins, and Paul Buonopane in 2023. As avid golfers, the co-founders noticed that existing indoor golf spaces focused entirely on entertainment, bars, and food rather than genuine player improvement. GolfTRK facilities prioritize swing analytics, club fitting, and PGA-certified coaching over casual entertainment.
“GolfTRK is the best place to get better at golf,” Reed said.
“It’s a facility focused on dialing in your swing, getting in the reps you need, and actually seeing the data behind every shot, so you’re not just guessing at what’s working. Whether you’re picking up a club for the first time or you’ve been playing for decades, it’s built to meet you wherever you’re starting from.”
Their first location sold out of memberships in just four months, proving the demand for a data- and training-focused model. GolfTRK has since become an official TrackMan Preferred Franchise Partner, utilizing Tour-grade TrackMan simulator hardware and PuttView augmented reality putting greens.
Operating under parent company Albatross Golf, the brand scaled quickly into a multi-state franchise with units sold across Texas, Nebraska, and Kansas. In September 2026, GolfTRK opened its flagship headquarters in Prairie Village, Kansas, featuring eight TrackMan bays and a massive PuttView green. There are now five open GolfTRK locations and more than 60 franchise units sold or in development nationwide, and when asked about even further expansion plans, Reed simply replied: “Never say never.”
“GolfTRK is comprised of amateurs and professionals who are dedicated to honing their game. You won’t find anywhere else like it or any other community that’s as ready and excited to facilitate your growth as a player,” Reed said.
“We’ve kept retail intentional rather than trying to be a pro shop. You’ll find branded merch, some curated gear, the stuff our members actually want, but we’ve never wanted a wall of inventory that needs full-time staff to manage.”
