Waffle House continues exploring potential sites within Northeast Florida, proposing a new location along Touchton Road.

The site will be located between Copeland’s of New Orleans and the Deerwood Lake Commons Shopping Center, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record. Last month, JEA issued a service availability letter to applicant Contineo Group for a proposed 34-seat, roughly 1,842-square-foot Waffle House with 32 parking spaces. Given how early this location is in the planning stages, there is no timeline for this location. The company is also working on a site in Oakleaf Plantation and North Jacksonville.

Waffle House is no stranger to Northeast Florida. It has 14 locations throughout the area, including one in Jacksonville Beach. In January 2023, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence received a standing ovation at this location after a 31-30 comeback win over the Los Angeles Chargers, sending the team to the divisional playoffs for the first time since 2017 after starting the game 27-0. Today, the Georgia-based company has more than 1,900 locations in 25 states, all open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When these new locations open up across the greater Jacksonville area, customers can expect a simple menu that is full of quality. For breakfast, the restaurant offers all of the classics, including omelets, biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, hashbrowns, and, of course, waffles. For lunch and dinner, customers can expect a variety of American classics, such as a 100% Angus beef burger, chicken sandwiches, t-bone steak, and more. What’s better than the food is the atmosphere of the restaurant, which is always welcoming to all who enter.
