Tampa-based YH Restaurant Group recently opened YH Dim Sum in the area but is still getting ready to open more concepts in Jacksonville, including Bakery 1908.

While the company doesn’t have an exact location for the bakehouse, founder and restaurateur/ entrepreneur John Zhao expects to open the concept in Winter 2024, according to the Florida Times-Union. Bakery 1908 is the only bakery in Florida offering dumplings, dim sum, sweet buns, pastries, coffee, and boba. Other items on the menu include various cakes, bread, and more. The company currently has one location in Orlando at 2021 E. Colonial Dr.

“Our experienced bakers and cakers have been hard at work creating delicious delights,” according to the company’s website. “Come experience one of the largest ranges of sweet buns, savories, desserts, dim sum, dumplings, cakes, and Boba Milk Tea in Orlando. We combine fresh ingredients, finely honed recipes, and measured patience to ensure your baked treats taste exceptional – as they should be. Our range of in-store baked goods is ever-changing.”

Established in 2010, YH Restaurant Group is focused on providing delicious and authentic Asian cuisine to the USA. Other restaurants in the company’s portfolio include Sweet Buns Bakery, Yummy House, YH Seafood Clubhouse, Pho 813, Kyuramen, and YHS China Bistro. In 2024, the company launched Dim Sum House, as well as Shoo Loong Kan and La Diperie, both of which are franchises. Finally, YH Dim Sum recently debuted at 10460 Avenues Walk Blvd. across from The Avenues shopping mall, replacing Mikado Japanese Steakhouse.
