The Southern Nevada Health District conducted a health inspection at the Kagari Ramen restaurant in Las Vegas. The restaurant received a demerit score of 37 and was temporarily closed by the SNHD due to food safety violations.

Kagari Ramen served Japanese dishes such as sushi and ramen to Las Vegas customers. However, a routine health inspection on July 24 revealed that the restaurant was not following the health and food safety guidelines.

Inspectors observed unsanitary conditions and found the restaurant operating outside the terms of its health permit. There was no compliance with the HACCP plan. The handwashing procedures were not followed diligently by the staff, as per the food handler health restrictions.

Commercially manufactured food lacked required labeling. Some food items requiring temperature control were stored improperly. The inspection also revealed the use of equipment that was not approved for use or was not maintained properly.

The inspecting officer noticed that the food items were not protected from potential cross-contamination. The chemicals were stored near the food prep counter, and the facility needs to keep such hazardous materials separated. The inspector also ordered the restaurant to implement pest control measures.
