What Led to the Closure of the Nigerian Cuisine?

A routine inspection was conducted at the restaurant by the Southern Nevada Health District. The inspecting officer observed multiple violations. It was found that potable water and hot water were not available in the facility. The restaurant needs to provide hot and cold running water.

The inspecting officer noticed pest infestation and gross unsanitary conditions. The officer instructed pest control measures to the restaurant. Wastewater and sewage were not disposed of in accordance with health regulations. The facility lacked adequate backflow prevention, which could result in cross-contamination risks.

It was observed that food was not kept properly separated and could be prone to cross-contamination. The officer also noted that the food handlers did not follow proper thawing and cooling methods.

The report also mentioned that the restaurant needs to get a mandated certification and food handler card. Proper labeling and records for all the foods have to be maintained for availability in need.

As the nature of the violations was quite severe, therefore, the restaurant was asked to cease operations. The restaurant may reopen once all corrective actions are implemented and verified by a follow-up inspection.
