John Arakaki, a well-known fixture in the dining and nightlife scene in Los Angeles, has opened St Felix Sin City at The Bend, 8730 W Sunset Rd, Suite G- 130, Las Vegas, NV 89148. Since 2011, the original St Felix has been nestled in the heart of Hollywood and has become a beloved institution in the neighborhood’s vibrant nightlife and culinary scene, serving award-winning cocktails and high-quality fare. The Las Vegas location is more than 4,000 SF and includes two full bars, a main dining area, and a private room for parties and special events.
“Having worked in the Vegas market for the last 20 years as a pioneer for the Monster energy brand and a touring musician, I always wanted to open dining and nightlife spot here that served incredible cocktails and great food, inside a venue with a creative energy and artistic edge,” said John Arakaki in a statement. “The Bend is the perfect location to serve Las Vegas locals and cater to service industry pros, but close enough to the Strip to appeal to who are familiar with our brand.”
The culinary program has been created by Chef Jorge Arrendondo and includes Braised Beef Short Ribs (slow-roasted boneless short ribs with goat cheese mashed potatoes and grilled spring onions; St. Felix Sample Platter (a selection of St Felix’s award winning fare featuring customer’s favorite items including Malaysian-style steak skewers, wagyu slider, southern fried chicken slider, veggie taco, Thai deviled eggs, mac n’ cheese & truffle parmesan popcorn); Malaysian-Style Steak Skewers (soy and chili marinated angus elkhorn steak served with house made chipotle aioli and house made buttermilk ranch); Magic City Ceviche (a recipe taken from Arakaki’s Okinawan Japanese Peruvian grandmother — whitefish prepared in a spicy Peruvian-style citrus marinade with avocado, mango, cilantro, pickled onions and a hint of cream, served with a side of tortilla chips; and for dessert, L.A. Churro Waffle (a waffle spin, Los Angeleno style topped w/cinnamon sugar, chocolate and caramel sauce, strawberries and fresh whipped cream, served with vanilla bean ice cream).
Vegetarian and vegan sampler platters are also available.
The beverage program has been created by Arakaki and included several cocktails that were created 17 years ago and have become Hollywood standards. All made with fresh fruit juices, specialty cocktails include Stockholm Syndrome (rosemary, mint, strawberries, fresh lime and pomegranate juice, with Martin Miller Gin); Watermelon Martini (watermelon vodka, craft watermelon juice blend with freshly meddled melon and a fresh slice of watermelon); Purple Reign (St Felix’s signature Butterfly Collins Botanical Spirit with fresh squeezed lemon juice, Mariposa Magic Tea and Martin Miller Gin); Desperado (crushed red bell pepper, mint, orange bitters, lime and Herradura 100% Blue Agave Silver Tequila). Hollywood virgin mocktails include the Orange Creamsicle (freshly squeezed orange juice shaken with fresh cream).
St Felix’s happy hour is extensive (Wednesday – Saturday 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.) with a menu that features $5 -$10 small bites such as the white truffle parmesan popcorn, Parma pierogies, risotto balls and Jorge’s Taco Especial, and specialty drinks such as the Country Bear lemonade, Jack Apple Mule and the Boiler Maker , a shot with Miller High Life Pony Beer, all discounted at happy hour.
The inside décor looks like something out of a movie set, with Roberto Cavalli wallpaper, a bar featuring imported Italian marble, and a custom gold/pink neon disco ball designed by a fabricator from Coachella Arts & Music Festival, inspired by the movies Scarface and Carlito’s Way. The Lady Luck and Showgirls murals were done by renowned artist Glen Infante who has worked with Machine Gun Kelly and brands such as New Balance Shoes, Gatorade and the NBA.
The Showgirls mural was inspired to bring the Vegas and Hollywood experience together through this homage to the film.
St Felix Hollywood started in 2008 as creative space appealing to the successful business person who enjoyed its high-fashion forward but timeless aesthetic in the same space as the hungry young professional, creative artist community, and the celebrity community all in an authentic Hollywood cool vibe without the velvet rope pretension. The space is known for hosting intimate gatherings, birthday parties, bachelor-bachelorette parties, baby showers, wedding dinners/parties, television and film viewings, location shoots, product launches, podcasts, influencer content launches and corporate and holiday events.
ST FELIX SIN CITY is located at 8730 W Sunset Rd, Suite G-130 @ The Bend, Las Vegas, NV 89148.
