Able Baker Brewing is seeking to expand. The local brewery will open a new location at 6371 Centennial Center Blvd, according to a recent liquor license application.
The local brand, helmed by CEO Randy Rohde, opened its first location in Downtown Las Vegas in 2019. The spot offers a nod to Nevada’s history through its name — the name Able Baker is inspired by the codenames of the first two atomic bombs detonated at the Nevada Test Site, “Able” and “Baker.” In line with the historical theme, Able Baker Brewing also highlights the legend of the atomic duck, as a duck was rumored to be the only animal that survived the atomic test blasts at the Nevada Test Site. The branding for Able Baker, including its logo and design elements throughout its brewery, offer nods to the legend of the atomic duck.
“At Able Baker Brewing, we take pride in creating unique, finely-crafted, premium quality beer with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and bold flavor profiles, while using the Atomic Age as inspiration to showcase Nevada’s resourcefulness and cast a respectful nod towards our unique state history,” the website states.
The current taproom has more than 30 craft beers on tap, a limited wine list and a scratch kitchen. The Arts District Kitchen, located in the current taproom, serves a menu featuring items like burgers, Banh Mi sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, fish tacos and nachos.
An opening timeline is unclear at this time. Efforts to reach the ownership prior to publication were unsuccessful.
