Nutmeg Indian Cuisine, the “unique dining experience that combines the rich traditions of Indian cuisine with unique fusion items like our Pasta Tikka Masala,” has recently opened a spinoff location, Nutmeg Indian Cafe, in the Campus Commons Food Court. It was the first expansion for this popular local Indian restaurant, headed up by owner and chef Nelroy Rebello and his wife Melissa, but it won’t be the last. Vegas’s second Nutmeg Indian Cuisine is opening in the second half of June, at 9340 W Flaming Rd, Suite 111.
“The big thing is that this location will have a buffet,” Rebello told What Now on Monday. “The other two haven’t had them. It’s going to be all-you-can-eat, but with naan served at the table. And you can customize your naan. Want Garlic Mushroom Naan? If we have the ingredients, why not?”
Rebello emphasizes in importance of good service, as well as running a tight (and clean) ship.
“When you got into a lot of restaurants, the kitchens are filthy. Not ours. For us, whether it’s a busy or a slow day, we can take somebody in to see how exactly the food is made.”
Another aspect to the new location—particularly on the buffet side—is affordability. While a good buffet will generally run you at least $18 the days, Rebello says the buffet at this new Nutmeg Indian Cuisine is debuting at $14.99.
“I’m here for the people, not the money.” Rebello says.
And that tracks. This location is set up to cater to locals with the intention of building a clientele base, a community, rather than trying only to catch visitors as they pass through.
“People on the Strip come and go. I’m here for the local people, especially at this location.”
