AmeriCAN Beer, which offers a kitschy can-oriented bar experience at the Linq, will reopen soon at the Linq Promenade. The bar closed not long ago for unspecified reasons, although a recent permit application for a signage installation suggests at least minor renovations have been undertaken.
The bar serves a large selection of can beers, boasting at least one from each of the 50 US states, with familiar domestic “Lagers and Pilsners” like Coor’s Banquet Lager and Pabst Blue Ribbon, as well as more colorful varieties. Under “Ambers, Browns, and & Stouts” guests find choices like the Maui Coconut Hiwa Porter, and, under “Sours and Fruit Brewskis,” Lovelady’s 9th Island Pineapple Sour.
AmeriCAN Beer offers signature cocktails like the Dolly Sour (Jim Beam Bourbon with lemon-lime soda and fresh lemon juice) and FDR Swizzle (Malibu Rum with fresh orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice and a dash of falernum topped with Myers’s Dark Rum), which the menu describes saying, “Franklin D. Roosevelt drank this ‘Haitian libation’ while sailing. Must have made for an interesting expedition.”
Also available are beertails including micheladas and the Cherry Pop! (Mother Earth Cali Creamin’ Vanilla Cream Ale, cherry vodka, vanilla vodka, Amareto, cherry juice, and Grenadine topped with Sierra Mist).
What Now Las Vegas reached out to owner Jonathan Fine on Tuesday morning. Fine was unavailable for comment on the bar’s reopening.
