With four locations currently operating in Las Vegas, BBQ Mexicana is preparing to open a fifth. The fast-casual eatery from James Beard and Julia Child Award recipient Chef Mary Sue Milliken—the culinary force behind concepts like Border Grill and Socalo—is expected to launch a new outpost somewhere in the valley later this year.

This much we knew. The only question was: Where?

The answer may now have come in the form of work permit paperwork submitted recently to Clark County for a “BBQ Mexicana” project. No address is given on the paperwork, but the documents refer to a parcel on West Sunset Road between Durango Drive and Jim Rogers Way.

BBQ Mexicana’s menus vary by location. The one at Mandalay Bay offers Burrito varieties like Burnt Ends, Avocado Chicken, and Pulled Pork; Bowls like the Brisket Lover and The Coop (mesquite smoked chicken, cilantro lime rice, cowboy caviar, avocado, charred corn relish, escabeche, crispy quinoa); and breakfast choices like the Breakfast Burrito and the Egg White Burrito.

What Now reached out to Chef Milliken on Monday to inquire about the upcoming fifth BBQ Mexicana. The chef was not immediately available for comment.
