Located in the retail center on the northwest corner of Tropicana Avenue and South Jones Boulevard, BG Bistro has offered Las Vegas traditional Bulgarian fare along with beer and wine in a comfortable setting at 6160 W Tropicana Ave. And now the restaurant is about to go in an entirely different direction, owner Sejo Kasic told What Now on Wednesday.

Kasic says to expect a shift from a bistro-style menu and vibe to those of a bar and grill, namely Top Bar & Restaurant. A new chef and manager have been hired for Top Bar & Restaurant, a liquor license application is in, and the rebrand is expected to take place in September.

“September is football season, and other sports, and we’ll want to go full speed ahead,” said Kasic.

BG Bistro currently seats about 90 guests, but the newly designed space, to be equipped with an upgraded kitchen, will feature about 130 seats, including both a dining room and a bar. The menu will feature items like filet mignon, Chilean Sea Bass, Shrimp Scampi, and more.

“Right now, we’re building the menu slowly,” Kasic said.

Top Restaurant and Bar (for the moment, still BG Bistro) is one of several food and drink spots on the corner of Jones and Tropicana. These include Black Bear Diner, Colorful Noodle, and Vila Algarve.
