Cafe 86 is expanding its reach across the Las Vegas Valley, with a new location opening in Henderson. The brand announced the upcoming opening in an Instagram post on its new Henderson cafe page. According to the post and the brand’s website, Cafe 86 is planned to open in the Eastern Retail Center at 9680 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 100.
“We are currently in the construction phase – exciting things are happening behind the scenes as we build out your new favorite spot in Henderson,” the Instagram post reads.
“Stay tuned for more updates, announcements, and sneak peeks as we get closer to opening day.”
The plan is to debut Henderson’s first Cafe 86 this winter. What Now Las Vegas briefly spoke with co-founder Ginger Lim-Dimapasok, who confirmed the opening and shared who the franchisee behind the debut is.
“What started as a personal dream of owning a small café quickly became a shared family mission,” Cafe 86 Henderson franchisee, Noralyn Fernando, said in an interview with What Now.
“I’ve always loved the unique warmth of a café—the relaxing atmosphere, the aroma of fresh brews, and the simple joy of sharing a treat. For my husband and me, this is about more than just drinks; it’s an opportunity to serve our neighborhood, provide meaningful local jobs, and offer a welcoming space for everyone to gather.”
Situated in the southern Las Vegas/Henderson border trade area, near the Sunridge Heights and Silverado Ranch neighborhoods, Cafe 86 will open less than three-quarters of a mile south of the 215 Beltway. And the cafe will open in good company!
The Eastern Retail Center is home to businesses such as Vegas Discount Nutrition and is adjacent to major retail corridors featuring Target, Walmart, and the 215 & Eastern commercial hub.
“We wanted to create a vibrant spot where the community can come together to enjoy delicious pastries, authentic halo-halo, milk teas, milkshakes, and refreshing cooler drinks. That perfect blend of community, comfort, and flavor is what turned a lifelong dream into reality. Cafe 86 is a friendly, family-owned spot known for bringing delicious Filipino-American desserts to everyone,” Fernando said.
“We chose the Southeastern area because we love the neighborhood and knew it was the perfect spot for our community to gather. Everything on our menu is absolutely delicious and made to hit the spot.”

Husband-and-wife team James and Ginger Lim-Dimapasok founded Cafe 86 in 2014 in Chino Hills, California. The name comes from James’s love for car culture and his 1986 Toyota Corolla AE86. The shop originally started as a casual hangout space for car enthusiasts to meet, show off their engines, and connect.
Ginger, a Manila-born graduate of NYC Culinary Arts, pivoted the menu just a week before opening to highlight Filipino-inspired flavors centered on ube, a purple yam. The shop introduced original creations like ube cinnamon rolls, ube truffles, ube leche flan cupcakes, ube crack cheesecake, and specialty halo-halo drinks.
“Our halo-halo brings back sweet childhood memories, while the Milo milk tea is my ultimate comfort drink,” Fernando said.
“When my sweet tooth kicks in, the ube truffles are my absolute go-to, and our creamy milkshakes are perfect for beating the summer heat.”
The original store in Chino Hills was a small, 15-seat space with an initial startup investment of about $150,000. Driven by social media and word-of-mouth, customers traveled from across Southern California, prompting them to quickly expand from home ovens to a commissary kitchen. They opened a second location in Pasadena by 2015, followed by Artesia in 2016, and have since grown into a multi-location chain spanning California, Nevada, and other regions.
There are now close to 40 Cafe 86 locations across the United States, with the highest concentration in California. Only two cafes are in the Las Vegas Valley; the eastern avenue location will mark Cafe 86’s debut in Henderson.
“We started this business with a simple goal: to serve our community in more ways than one. First, we want to support our neighbors by providing employment opportunities. Second, we wanted to build a sanctuary for families—a place to slow down and enjoy everything from handcrafted pastries and sandwiches to refreshing milk teas, milkshakes, and halo-halo. We built this space for our community to gather over great food and even better company,” Fernando said.
“Whether you’re catching up with family, hosting a Bible study group, or just need a cozy spot to relax, we have a seat for you. Come try our menu, featuring everything from fresh sandwiches and specialty coffee, matcha to authentic ube pastries, milk teas, halo-halo, cooler drink, and milkshakes.”
Try it all for yourself when the new Cafe 86 debuts this winter in Henderson at 9680 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 100.
