Chef James Trees is having a busy year. The chef, who made a name for himself in Las Vegas with restaurants like Esther’s Kitchen, Ada’s Food + Wine, and Bar Boheme is currently at work on High Steaks Vegas, a new steakhouse concept replacing VooDoo Steak at the Rio, which What Now reported on last month.

Now, the chef is preparing to move his Tivoli Village restaurant, Ada’s Food + Wine, into a new Arts District location, according to coverage by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

We say new location, but that’s not really the word for it. The future home of Ada’s Food + Wine, at 1130 S Casino Center Blvd, is in fact the original home of Esther’s Kitchen, which has since moved to a new location at 1131 S Main Street. The RJ coverage says Trees has been working through plans for a restaurant in the Casino Center Boulevard space for some time, and had even considered launching a tasting-menu only concept there. In the end, a kind of homecoming turned out to be the best decision.

And so Ada’s Food + Wine will be moving in the original space—or rather, that space (in Suite 110) plus the two adjacent suites.

“Ada’s, which debuted in Tivoli Village in summer 2022, is set to open on South Casino Boulevard in December, and its renovation plans include a burnt orange and navy blue color scheme, a new bar area, a wine room, a new prep kitchen and a private dining room,” says the RJ coverage.
