Up along I-15 in Moapa, Glendale Boulevard breaks off the Las Vegas Freeway, and just down that road, you’ll find new local, family-owned restaurant Chile Poblano Mexican Grill. Having opened in May, Chile Poblano has quickly decided to add beer, wine, and liquor to its menu. The brand recently applied for a full service liquor license.
“We didn’t originally plan on serving alcohol,” owner Jose Tellez told What Now in a phone call last week. “But now we’re going through that process.”
Chile Poblano Mexican Grill serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a menu that opens with appetizers like Chicken Taquitos smothered in Salsa Verde, Queso Fundido Dip with homemade chorizo, and Chicken Wings. The breakfast menu includes offerings like a breakfast sandwich with egg, ham, bacon, and American cheese; a breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, avocado, cheese, and choice of steak, chicken or pork; and Huevos a la Mexicana (two over easy eggs smothered in a tomato sauce with onions, tomatoes, shredded jalapenos, served with Oaxacan cream).
Lunch and dinner choices include Surf N’ Turf Sizzling Fajitas with shrimp and steak, Chile Poblano, and Tostadas de Ceviche de Camaron (two tostadas topped with fresh ceviche made daily, garnished with avocado). There is also a selection of tortas, tacos, and burritos served with proteins that include carnitas, steak, al pastor, and chicken.
If you’re just passing through, or if you’re willing to make the trek for this new family-owned gem, Chile Poblano Mexican Grill is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday-Sunday.
