Texas-born Indian restaurant Desi Chowrastha is gearing up to open its first Nevada location on the Las Vegas Strip. The chain, which has seven locations in Texas, plus one apiece in Virginia and New Hampshire, will open at 3999 Las Vegas Blvd., across from Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

“We select famous dishes from each part of India and incorporate them into our menu,” a representative of the restaurant told What Now on Tuesday, describing Desi Chowrastha’s wide range of food offerings, which include everything from street foods to curries like Chowrastha Special Chicken and Ginger Goat Curry. There’s also a wide range of choices for vegetarians.

The location on the Strip will seat 70-80 people, the representative said, and will also be licensed to serve alcoholic beverages. Although Desi Chowrastha was initially anticipating an opening before year’s end, it’s now expected to launch in the beginning of 2024.
