MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes will soon be expanding into Las Vegas, with the first of five anticipated locations slated to open in Montecito Marketplace on Durango Drive early next year.
“It’s going to be one location after the other,” franchise owner Josh Aighobahi told What Now Las Vegas in a lunchtime phone call on Wednesday.
Formerly working as a clinical pharmacist, Aighobahi transitioned to restaurant ownership in pursuit of a longtime dream.
“We’ve always wanted to work in restaurants,” Aighobahi said. “After much research, we decided MOOYAH would be the best brand for us.” Asked why, Aighobahi answered, “The quality of the food. We’re very dedicated with the quality of the food: made-to-order burgers, French fries hand-cut from Idaho potatoes, real ice cream shakes.”
The restaurant serves high quality burgers and fries with milkshakes made with real ice cream. Also available are low-calorie lettuce-wrapped burgers and plant-based options like the black bean burger.
At 7080 North Durango Drive Suite 150—part of Montecito Marketplace, a retail center anchored by a Smith’s Food and Drug store—the restaurant will move into the space formerly occupied by See’s Candies. It is placed in a densely-populated, highly-accessible area.
“It’s the right fit for the community,” Aighobahi said. “Very community-oriented, because of the employment we’re going to bring to Las Vegas.”
The franchises brought to the Vegas Area by Aighobahi—three to begin with, but “maybe four or five”—will comprise an estimated 60 jobs.
The Montecito Marketplace MOOYAH location is working toward an opening date early in 2022.
