Beloved Mexican restaurant Frank & Fina’s Cocina, a Las Vegas institution since 1992, closed its doors back in August. It was a sad moment for many who’d been frequenting the family-owned and -operated restaurant for decades.
“It is a with a heavy heart we inform you that we will be closing our doors at the end of this month,” Frank & Fina’s posted on its Facebook page back in August. “Thank you for your loyalty and for all the wonderful memories. It’s been an honor to serve you all these years.”
But before you start crying—there’s more to this story.
What Now recently found licensing paperwork submitted to Clark County by Frank & Fina’s Cocina LLC for a new restaurant opening at 3100 S Durango Dr, Suite 100. That led us straight to Frank & Fina’s Facebook page, where we found this post, published a week ago:
“Hi everybody! We found a new location! We’re waiting on our licenses… It’s been a tough road but we’re so excited to be able to hopefully serve you soon! Please send good vibes and prayers our way!”
What Now reached out to owners of Frank & Fina’s on Thursday to ask about the reopening. They weren’t immediately available, but we’re awaiting more information on the new location. In the meantime, one commenter on the above Facebook post said it best:
“OMG I’M SCREAMING SO MUCH RIGHT NOW!!!!! I’M SO HAPPY THAT I DIDN’T LOSE THE BEST NACHOS EVER.”
I’m the owner of Frank & Fina’s Cocina and our Facebook page was hacked. Please let our followers know while I retrieve it. I’m unable to post any updates.
Hi – forgot to ask if you have a happy hour menu when i stopped in a short while ago. Do you? and is there an online menu anywhere?
