The first Las Vegas outpost of Nellie’s Southern Kitchen, a Southern comfort food restaurant from the Jonas family, will soon arrive at MGM Grand, according to recent coverage by Eater Las Vegas.
The project, which first opened in Belmont, North Carolina in 2016, is an homage to Kevin Jonas Sr.’s grandmother Nellie and her cooking—particularly her flaky, two-inch-thick biscuits.
The restaurant serves a menu packed with Southern classics. Its appetizers include fixings like fried okra, biscuits & gravy, and fried squash. Guests can choose from comfort-food entrees like chicken & waffles, Nellie’s Chicken & Dumplings, shrimp & grits, and meatloaf—or do “Nothin’ but Sides” (with choices like Drunk Collards, Roasted Cajun Potatoes, and Four Cheese Mac).
The menu also features a selection of burgers and sandwiches, including the Carolina Burger (with chili, slaw, onion, and mustard), the Hawg Hill Sandwich (Pecan-Smoked Pulled Pork or Smoked Portabellas, served with Coleslaw), and a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich.
Nellie’s will occupy an 11,000 sq.-ft. space across from the MGM Grand Garden Arena entrance. The restaurant is working toward an opening in the Spring 2022.
