If you’re a fan of Katsuya Ton Ton, which offers authentic Japanese cuisine at 7225 S Durango Dr., Suite #105, you might have been missing them this week. The restaurant took a week of R&R for the summer, starting on August 18. It will be open again starting Tuesday.

That reopening isn’t the only thing Katsuya Ton Ton has in the works. The restaurant is also preparing to expand to a second location, after submitting licensing paperwork, which shows an opening in the works at 8130 W Warm Springs Rd, Suite 100.

“The opening will probably be the end of October,” owner Masayuki Ide told What Now on Wednesday.

The new location will feature many of the same favorites from the menu, but there will be a few tweaks—in fact, Ide says there’s still a lot of potential for changes in the concept, as the details are currently being worked out.

“It will be a simple Asian ambience, with twenty to twenty-six seats,” Ide said.

“Our restaurant is an authentic Japanese Katsuya (Breaded deep fried pork cutlets and seafood),” says the Katsuya Ton Ton website. “Our original sauces are a blend of fruits and various vegetables. We refuse to compromise on quality in our restaurant.”
