Hawaiian breakfast and lunch spot Kono’s Northshore has fully arrived Las Vegas, opening locations at 7591 W Washington Ave in Summerlin and at 3616 Spring Mountain Rd in Chinatown. The family-owned restaurant has become a big local and tourist favorite in its home state, where it is famous for its 12-hour slow-roasted kalua pork. And now the brand is working on making itself a mainstay on Hawaii’s ninth island as well.
The first location, in Haleiwa, opened its doors back in 2002. Since then, Kono’s has opened three more restaurants across O’ahu, serving up its menu of tasty favorites in Kailua Town, Waikiki, and Honolulu. This recently-opened locations in Las Vegas are Kono’s first two restaurants opened out-of-state.
Kono’s offers a menu that includes breakfast burritos, sandwiches, fresh-squeezed lime- and lemonades, and hand-crafted milkshakes. The Kalua Pig Nachos, piled with 12-hour pulled pork, guava bbq sauce, cheese, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, cilantro, and jalapeños, are one famous application of the brand’s kalua pork.
The 1,500-square-foot space at 3616 Spring Mountain Road, just north of the Las Vegas Strip, is located not far from the Center at Spring Mountain, a large retail center home to food and drink locations like Pho Kim Long and the Golden Tiki. The Summerlin location, on the southeast corner of the intersection between W Washington Ave and N Buffalo Dr, is part of Longford Shoppes, shopping mall anchored by Trader Joe’s.
