It was only this time last year the What Now reported on plans for a new Vietnamese restaurant opening at Serene Avenue and Spencer Street. Little was known at the time about Pho Saigonese, which launched at 1740 E Serene Avenue earlier this year. But ever since the opening, the buzz has been picking up, and now—less than a year after launch—Pho Saigonese is already preparing to expand to a second location at 6125 Spring Mountain Road.

“Our restaurant is really low key but also really busy,” owner Danmy Nguyen told What Now on Saturday. “We don’t do any advertising, so it’s all word of mouth.”

Asked which dishes have been the most popular at the Serene Avenue location, Nguyen said it was difficult to say; guests have been enjoying the whole range of Pho Saigonese’s Vietnamese flavors.

“We are passionate about sharing the delicious flavors of our homeland with others,” says the restaurant’s website. “Food has always been at the center of our families and communities, and it is a source of comfort and happiness for us. We believe that the cuisine of Vietnam is one of its greatest treasures and are on a mission to introduce people to the diversity and richness of its flavors.”

The new Pho Saigonese is expected to launch on the southwest corner of West Spring Mountain Road and South Jones Boulevard in early 2025.
