What does time ever do but fly? It’s already more than three years since What Now reported on the opening of interactive dinner theater show Marriage Can Be Murder in The Venue at the Orleans. In tandem with the show, Cabrisse Kitchen—the culinary venture launched by MCBM producers and stars Eric and Jayne Post—was in the works on the dinner front.

Now, a few years later, Marriage Can Be Murder has moved on to its next home: the Rio Hotel & Casino. The beloved interactive experience launched there this week, and Cabrisse Kitchen will soon follow.

“The first show went great. The people loved it, laughed, had a great time,” Eric Post told What Now on Friday.

How many times have you done this show now? What Now asked.

“For that, I think you’d have to ask my wife. It’s between eight and ten thousand. And the thing about it is—the show’s never really done. People ask me, ‘You’ve really done the same show ten thousand times?’ But it’s never the same show. We change the main plot every three months, and of course it’s always different depending on the guests. The crowd really be comes part of the show, and there are some real characters out there.’

Post says that when Cabrisse Kitchen (the show’s dedicated food and beverage component) gets going, together with its bar and cocktail program, you can expect to find a similar menu to the one offered at the Orleans. The menu has featured entrees like Smoked Bourbon Brown Sugar Tri-Tip and Grilled Lemon Butter Chicken Breast. Once Cabrisse Kitchen is up and running, you’ll also be able to order your own personal pizza.

Meanwhile, this beloved Las Vegas dinner theater experience continues. It’s a special experience, not just for the shows guests, but for its performers as well.

“We just have a lot of chances to touch people,” Post says. “Between the show, the food, and the whole experience, it’s more than what you get a restaurant. And when it all goes right, it’s awesome.”
