With 22 locations in 14 states, plus one more in British Columbia, Matcha Cafe Maiko is a growing Hawaiian-born teahouse brand “with the goal of providing customers quality matcha with the authentic taste.”

After expanding all over the U.S., the brand may now be planning a new location on Hawaii’s Ninth Island.

Vegas is not currently home to any Matcha Cafe Maiko locations, but the brand has had a presence in the valley before. A former location located at 875 S Grand Central Pkwy is marked permanently closed on Google Maps (it has one five-year-old five-star review).

This week, What Now came across licensing paperwork submitted to Clark County by Greenwood One LLC showing “Matcha Maiko Cafe” opening at 4545 Spring Mountain Rd, Suite 1096.

What Now reached out to Sheng Ong, one of the owners of the location, to inquire about plans for the opening, and above all to confirmed whether “Matcha Maiko Cafe” is indeed a new Matcha Cafe Maiko location. Ong was not immediately available for comment.

The location in question is part of Hotai Place, retail center home to popular Asian restaurants like Nabe AYCE Hot Pot, Chubby Cattle BBQ, and Boz Korean Steak House and Bar.
