This month, the Las Vegas Planning Commission will review plans for a new Golden Chick location opening at 2360 N MLK Blvd, near the intersection with West Carey Avenue. The location is already listed as Temporarily Closed on Google Maps.

Founded in San Marcos, Texas, in 1967 as Golden Fried Chicken, the West Coast fried chicken brand has grown past 200 locations.

“Golden Chick is one of the fastest growing restaurant brands in the U.S. and was recognized as one of the very top brands in the country by Nation’s Restaurant News,” says the brand’s website. “Big things are planned for the little brand that started in San Marcos back in 1967. If there’s not a Golden Chick in your city now, there probably will be soon.”

The menu features Golden Combos like Wicked Wings, Golden Tenders, and Southern Fried Catfish. There are also sandwiches like the Hand-Breaded Big & Golden and the Texas Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich, along with current limited-time offers like the 6-Piece Shrimp Combo and the Catfish and Shrimp Combo.

Behind the upcoming location is franchisee Chris Aslam of Rock Strategic. What Now reached out to Aslam on Monday to ask about plans for the upcoming location at MLK and Carey. Aslam was not immediately available for comment.
