Korea Town Plaza, the retail center on the northeastern corner of the intersection between South Rainbow Boulevard and West Spring Mountain Road, may soon be welcoming a new Korean restaurant into its culinary community. Licensing paperwork was submitted recently by Chan Pum LLC for a restaurant called Banchan at 6870 Spring Mountain Road Unit 104.

Behind Chan Pum LLC are several co-owners, including Las Vegas restaurateur David Sim. Sim has been behind concepts like Goong Korean BBQ and Doma Korean BBQ. What Now reached out to Sim on Monday to inquire about Banchan’s menu offerings and opening date. Sim was not immediately available for comment.

Little can be known yet about Banchan’s menu, apart from the name taken from Korean cuisine’s distinctive side dishes. We’re hoping to find out more soon about this possible upcoming new concept.

Korea Town Plaza is currently home to a number of restaurants, including Chaser’s Pub, Paina Cafe, and Sakura Sushi, plus Korean restaurants like Hong Lou and Lee’s Korean BBQ Woonamjung.
