A new Greek restaurant is headed to the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard. Opening at 4936 E Tropicana Ave., Original Greek will offer a variety of tasty, approachable dishes from Greek cuisine.

“We’re excited to introduce authentic Greek food to the Hispanic community,” Virginia, a co-owner of Original Greek, told What Now on Wednesday. As part of the Hispanic community, she sees Greek cuisine as a natural fit, but one many people are not often exposed to.

Peter, a longtime friend and fellow co-owner of Original Greek, first introduced Virginia to cuisine from the Aegean. “It’s super healthy,” Virginia said. “And there are a lot of connections.”

(After all, Virginia points out, one need only put a gyro next to a taco to see the overlap.)

In the space on Tropicana Avenue, Original Greek will seat up to 45 guests, offering standout dishes like extra-spicy Kopanisto, Skepasti (which Virginia compares to a molita), and Biftekia, a Greek-style burger patty.

“We’re trying to make it accessible and affordable, where someone will see it and say, I know what that is,” said Virginia.

Keep an eye out for Original Greek, opening at Tropicana and Nellis!
