Founded in the south of Brazil back in 1979, Fogo de Chão has expanded internationally with dozens of churrascarias now operating in the United States. One location is already in operation in Las Vegas, at the Hughes Center business park, and a second location now appears to be on the way.
Permitting paperwork has been submitted to Clark County for work on a “Fogo de Chao” project at the Venetian (specifically, at the property owned by Grand Canal Shops II LLC). The contract valuation for the work comes in at $2.5 million.
The Fogo dinner menu features a wide variety of cuts, including Filet Mignon, Picanha, Medalhões com Bacon, and Linguiça (spicy pork sausage), along with sides like warm Pão de Queijo, Crispy Polenta, and Caramelized Bananas. Entrees from the menu include Chilean Sea Bass, Pan-Seared Salmon, and the Roasted Veggie Power Bowl (Vegan and gluten free, served with chimichurri spinach rice).
“The [Fogo de Chão] culinary team has continued the tradition of developing new menu creations rooted in the Brazilian tradition that push forward the Brazilian churrasco experience,” says the Fogo de Chão website. “Thanks to years of hard work and staying committed to excellence, the Fogo de Chão team has opened locations in several major Brazilian and U.S, cities, but the journey is not quite finished. Fogo continues to introduce new flavors and experiences to audiences across the globe.”
What Now reached out to Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan to inquire about plans for a new Fogo at the Grand Canal Shoppes. McGowan was not immediately available for comment.
