Porfirio’s Place is embarking on a beautiful family venture that’ll bring Sinola vibes to the Valley. A city business permit for the establishment shows that the new eatery will open in the Sovana neighborhood in Spring Valley at 6085 S Rainbow Blvd.

Mother and son duo, Erika and Jesus Landeros, are behind the new restaurant opening in Spring Valley. What Now Las Vegas spoke with Jesus about the opening. Jesus confirmed that Porfirio’s Place would be opening in the gas station on Rainbow Blvd. this spring.

“We hope it brings people joy, and they can feel the love we put in our food,” Jesus said.

Originally from Sinola, Mexico, Porfirio’s place is intended to be rooted in authentic Mexican traditions.

The menu will include many of the beloved Mexican dishes the Valley may have become accustomed to and some new additions.

Porfirio’s Place will serve up and dish out a variety of tacos and burritos, as well as authentic and freshly made pozole. Pozole is a traditional Mexican soup or stew. It is made from hominy with meat, and can be seasoned and garnished with shredded lettuce or cabbage, chili peppers, onion, garlic, radishes, avocado, salsa, or limes.

Not only is the new eatery rooted in tradition, but it’s also rooted in history. Porfirio’s Place is named after Jesus’ grandfather, Erika’s dad, who also cooked.

Jesus informed What Now Las Vegas that a lot is still in the works. Porfirio’s Place does not currently have an online presence, with no website or social media up just yet. But, Jesus said his team is working on it.

We’re sure you’ll hear more about this eatery as we wind down closer to its debut.
