The Sand Dollar Lounge will expand to a second location at the historic Plaza Hotel and Casino at 1 N Main Street in Downtown Las Vegas.

The Sand Dollar Lounge, which sits at 3355 Spring Mountain Road, had originally opened in 1976 as the Sand Dollar Blues Bar where legendary musicians like Muddy Waters and B.B. King graced the stage. The venue closed in 2007 and reopened in 2009. Current owners Nathan Grates and Anthony Jamison acquired and revitalized the iconic bar and lounge in 2015 with seasonal events such as the annual Miracle on Spring Mountain when the venue is converted into a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar that serves holiday cocktails in a festive setting filled with kitschy holiday décor.

The Sand Dollar Lounge will occupy nearly 5,000-square-foot space on the Plaza’s casino floor. The venue will serve the Plaza’s Pop Up Pizzas and craft cocktails, and feature live music on Thursday and Saturday evenings.

According to Grates’s post on LinkedIn, the Sand Dollar Lounge in Downtown Las Vegas is scheduled to open at the Plaza this fall.
