February 12 saw the first edition of an exciting new monthly event at StarBase. Located at 3905 W Diablo Dr, the private and public hybrid entertainment and event space hosts Starfire, a space-age nightclub/dance party featuring “exotic performers, dancers, digital artwork, and immersive videos underneath the disco ball in support of the LGBTQ+ community and underground culture.” The ambitious nightclub event is a celebration of local queer artists and represents an attempt to design the future of how we consume art, technology, and community simultaneously.”

Each edition is hosted by Beverly Chillz, a performer/storyteller with ties to a number of venues Downtown and off the Strip. Special guests and entertainment include LaNova China, live performances by Jstn Wes and Tanna Marie, and art installations by 1 800 No Signal, with support from Bodywork & Company

“It’s time to start looking at event production as something that can be impactful upon bringing people together,” Chillz said in a press release. “I believe when you party with a purpose that you can shift the energy in the world around you – we can change humanity with every beat drop, we can honor our ancestors with the twist of the hip. We can find our way back to love underneath the lights, even if only for just one night.”

StarBase combines live and virtual event experiences for corporate events, viewing and watch parties, live performances, entertainment experiences, and festivals, with an emphasis on technology and a goal of “transforming Las Vegas into a digital universe.” With 8,000 sq. ft. of event space, it is located within walking distance of Allegiant Stadium.

Starfire is set to take place on the third Saturday of each month, starting at 9 p.m. Admission is complimentary for guests 21 and over.
