Reno-born cake shop chain The Cake Slice is planning a new location for Henderson this spring. The new cake shop will open in Paseo Verde Plaza, a retail center anchored by a Smith Food & Drug, located at 55 S Valle Verde Dr.

Owner Michelle Kitchen confirmed the news on the phone with What Now Las Vegas on Thursday. The new location is expected to open on April 6, Kitchen said.

The Cake Slice’s slices come in flavors like Cookies n Cream, Vanilla Raspberry, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Carrot. In addition to individual slices, Kitchen said, the new store will offer full cakes on a 24-hour preorder, with some whole cakes available ready-made in-store.

“These are homemade butter cakes,” Kitchen told What Now Las Vegas last year. “They’re exceptional. They do well because they’re really unique. They need to be tried to be understood.”

Situated on the northwest corner of the intersection between Paseo Verde Pkwy and Valle Verde Dr, the Paseo Verde Plaza location will join a community of dining locations that includes Boom Bang Fine Foods & Cocktails, Mochinut, and China A Go Go.
