Recent permit filings have revealed a $3 million project is in the works at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino. This food court buildout comes in the wake of several internal pandemic-related closures.

In the Spring of last year, the Corner Market Buffet at Treasure Island shuttered its doors, as reported by Eater Vegas in May. This closure occurred less than two years after Treasure Island spent $3.6 million on the buffet’s renovation.

In September, the 12,000 square feet buffet space reopened in the form of The Golden Circle Sportsbook & Bar. As indicated by yesterday’s permit filing, the hotel is changing course yet again. What Now Las Vegas reached out to Treasure Island for comment, but they declined to comment on the permit filings and upcoming renovation.

Treasure Island Hotel and Casino is owned by billionaire Phil Ruffin, who has recently made the news for his ongoing business relationship and friendship with Donald Trump. Ruffin also owns Circus Circus, and co-owns the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.

The Nevada Independent reported last year that Ruffin owns roughly 4 million square feet worth of property, with a great deal of that being on the Las Vegas Strip.
