Founded in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 1978, Weera Thai has been serving its award-winning Thai cuisine in Las Vegas since 2010. In that time, it has grown to include three locations in the valley. And now the brand is preparing to branch out with a new menu featuring seafood dishes from Southern Thailand.

“We want to show people South Thailand’s seafood dishes and let them experience them,” Sasi Phothidokmai told What Now on Tuesday. Phothidokmai runs Weera Thai in partnership with her husband Prachatouch Thongusthaisiri. Their family opened the original restaurant in Thailand, and Phothidokmai’s brother runs two Thai restaurants in Paris.

The restaurateur told What Now that the new location will seat about 60 guests. It will feature an open kitchen, allowing guests a few of the action, along with an oyster bar, chef table, and full bar.

Weera Seafood is expected to open late this summer at 6805 S Las Vegas Blvd. Guests can expect the same delicious Thai cuisine in a brand new, seafood-focused presentation. Phothidokmai says it will remind you of the food in Phuket or Koh Samui.

Situated near the intersection of South Las Vegas Boulevard and Town Square Parkway, Weera Seafood will join a culinary community that includes Master Kim’s Korean BBQ, Broken Yolk Cafe, and Cafe Rio Mexican Grill.
