Morning news, a “casual breakfast spot,” is slated to open on October 24, 2023, at 3154 W Sahara Ave, the restaurant this week announced on social media.

The space used to be home to a Dairy Queen.

“Extra extra, read all about it: our grand opening is on Tuesday, October 24th,” the social media post states. “We’re so excited to open our doors and welcome everybody in. We will not be taking reservations, but bring a friend and your appetite!”

Morning News will be “slinging classic fare, but with our own unique twist,” the restaurant writes of its menu via Facebook.

Sweet options include the Cookie Monster (Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Crushed Oreos, Vanilla Ice Cream, Sweet Glaze), the Chunky Monkey (Crispy Bacon, Chunky Banana Topping, Pecans, Maple Butter), and the Stardust (Blueberry Sauce, Sweet Frosting, Whipped Cream, Butter.)

On the savory side of things, guests can look forward to Chilaquiles Rojo & Verde (crispy homemade chips, tossed in traditional red or green egg sauce, topped with a sunny side up, queso fresco, and crema) and Crispy fried chicken with hot honey maple on our house waffle.

Morning News is from the team behind steakhouse and cocktail bar Herbs and Rye which is led by Owner Nectaly Mendoza.
