ALDI, a German family-owned discount supermarket chain, is heading to Northridge.
The Trader Joe’s sister concept is set to replace Office Max in the Nordhoff Plaza shopping center, at 19350 West Nordhoff Street Unit F.
Permits on Friday were issued by the City of Los Angeles to ALDI so that the grocery store could begin building out the 17,945 space near 24 Hour Fitness.
Converting the shuttered office supply store into the new ALDI could cost north of $2,000,000, according to the permit.
The planned ALDI is one of 15 Southern California outposts slated to open before the end of 2019, bringing the total in the region to 78.
ALDI in mid-2017 announced plans to grow its 1,800 supermarkets to 2,500 nationwide by the end of 2022 as part of a $3.4 billion capital investment.
