By the end of next year, Encino Courtyard won’t be recognizable, thanks to new tenants, a modernized facade, and a reconfigured courtyard. Anchoring the development will be Target and Planet Fitness with additional tenants like Pressed Juicery, The Kebab Shop, New York-based burger chain Shake Shack, and Blaze Pizza.
Most of the new retailers expected at the outdoor center, located at 17401 Ventura Boulevard, will open by 2021. Current tenants include nail salon Hands to Hold and Los Angeles-based Western Bagel.
Permitting for various tenant spaces in Encino Courtyard is well underway with a recently-approved application just last week issued by the City of Los Angeles detailing $140,000 in construction to suite A-17. The center itself has already started its transformation which developer ShopCore Properties announced at the end of July.
The shopping center boasts itself as a filming location in director Judd Apatow’s film “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” starring Steve Carell.
[Editor’s note: this article has been updated to reflect that Planet Fitness, not LA Fitness, is heading to Encino Courtyard.]
