Crustacean, an upscale Vietnamese restaurant, will close its Beverly Hills location later this month. The restaurant has operated at its Bedford Drive location for nearly 30 years. The owners cited that this is not a permanent goodbye and that they are searching for a new home.
Crustacean Beverly Hills to Leave Its Iconic Bedford Drive Home
Crustacean at 468 North Bedford Drive will serve its final meal on July 31, 2026. In the closure announcement on the website, the owners cited, “As we prepare for our next chapter, we invite you to stay connected so that we may continue to have the honor of serving you.”
The AN Family thanked the community for its support and said it hopes to continue serving guests in a new location. In an interview with Fox Los Angeles, Elizabeth An, founder of Crustacean, said the restaurant building has been sold.
She said the building’s new owner has different plans for the property, prompting the restaurant’s closure. Though the restaurant is leaving its longtime home, they are planning to retain the staff and keep serving through alternate options.
According to Elizabeth, Crustacean will host pop-ups at sister concepts under their hospitality group. The team might even start catering services for their customers.
Crustacean is the fusion of Vietnamese cuisine with contemporary fine dining. It is a destination that’s been beloved by celebrities, locals, and tourists alike since opening in the late 90’s.
A 30-Year Legacy of the Restaurant
The An family established Crustacean in Beverly Hills almost 30 years ago. The restaurant is part of the House of AN hospitality group, which started with the family’s humble restaurant in San Francisco in 1971. Crustacean’s is known for its high-end Asian fusion cuisine, a mix of Vietnamese, French, and Chinese influences.
Helene An, the restaurant’s chef, is a master chef who helped pave the way for Vietnamese cuisine in America. Renowned for her culinary efforts, she is the creator of one of Crustacean’s signature dishes, AN’s Famous Garlic Noodles®. She was honored by the California Hall of Fame and the Smithsonian Institution for her work.
Crustacean’s menu consists of family favorites and modern dishes. Guests enjoy garlic noodles, garlic roasted Dungeness crab, whole Maine lobster, Wagyu beef, seafood, dim sum, vegan items, and handcrafted cocktails.
The restaurant’s Beverly Hills chapter is closing its doors, but the An family will continue to keep the brand alive with other projects.
