Bay Area-based Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers is expanding to a third location in Calabasas, located at 4776 Commons Way Ste D.
Opening in 1978, Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers claim to be the first burger shop to serve award-winning gourmet burgers. Since then, owner Albert Sarshar has expanded to seven other locations throughout California, including two in Los Angeles: Brentwood and Santa Monica. Now, the slow-growing micro chain is expanding to a third location in Calabasas, replacing a Menchies Frozen Yogurt, at an unknown date.
Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers offers much more than just burgers. The menu includes a variety of salads, hot dogs, and sandwiches. Despite the many menu items, the restaurant is named for its signature hamburgers. The restaurant offers 19 different specialty gourmet hamburgers, with the option of substituting the beef with turkey, a garden patty, chicken, salmon, or beyond meat. To top it off, the restaurant has multiple kinds of fries and sides, such as truffle fries or pickle chips.
Since the first location in Oakland, Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers have spread throughout the Bay Area, having a location in Berkeley, Piedmont, and San Francisco. The company then began to expand throughout Los Angeles in the early 2000s. The newest location can be found in The Commons at Calabasas, between a Corner Bakery and a Starbucks.
“You deserve to be cherished,” Sarshar said on the website. “Through care, competence, attentiveness & excellence we act on this belief when you’re in our restaurant. Each welcoming visit, each interaction we share with you, each creative, delightful bite of our farm-fresh-to table food you savor, is our way of appreciating you.”
when is the one in Calabasas opening? Originally, it said summer of 2021, but we are well past that.
