Bread Head, a chef-driven sandwich shop renowned for its signature focaccia, is set to open a new location in Westwood Village at 1136 Westwood Blvd.
The expansion comes as Bread Head continues to grow its presence in Los Angeles, following successful launches in Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach, according to ToddRickAllen. Co-owner Greg Willsey tells What Now Los Angeles that the team aims to open in the second half of September, although the exact date will depend on final city and health permits. He noted that the space is mainly built out, and the remaining kitchen equipment is expected to arrive this week. The Westwood location will closely resemble the original Santa Monica shop in both size and layout, with plans to add a parklet for outdoor seating.
Founded by chefs Alex Williams and Jordan Snyder, alums of the Michelin-starred Trois Mec, Bread Head is renowned for its meticulously crafted sandwiches, served on house-baked focaccia—a hybrid of traditional focaccia and ciabatta. Popular menu items include the Muffaletta, Calabrian Turkey, and a vegetarian Mozzarella sandwich. Their Manhattan Beach location, which recently became fully operational, is larger and features a bar and TVs, offering a distinct dining experience. Willsey said the team is looking forward to serving the UCLA community, local businesses, and neighborhood residents, adding that his wife is a UCLA alum.
Williams and Snyder founded Bread Head after a successful run as a pop-up, which led to the opening of their first permanent location on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica in June 2024. The shop quickly gained attention for its quality ingredients and house-baked bread. In June 2025, they opened a second location in Manhattan Beach with an expanded format. With Westwood set to become the third location, Bread Head continues to grow its footprint across Los Angeles.
