Buena Vida Tea Bar & Garden is getting ready to open next month in Santa Monica, located at 726 Montana Ave.

The tea room is expected to open mid-tolate October, owner Mayra Vazquez tells What Now Los Angeles. The restaurant was hoping to open this past summer, but the pandemic delayed the opening. Buena Vida Tea Bar & Garden will feature various tea from around the world, such as Mao Jian, Rose de Jamaica, and Persian Delight. Tea won’t be the only thing served at this location. Vazquez also plans on having a food menu to accompany the teas, including sweet and savory sandwiches, scones, and cakes.

The new tea bar will replace a flower shop called The Language of Flowers. Vazquez, who moved to California in the late 80s, always admired the flower shop and has decided to honor its closure through the garden. This garden features pomegranate and fig trees to create a unique tea-enjoying experience. If the garden isn’t for you, there will be a large patio that tea rooms don’t usually have.

“It’s going to be very zen, and somewhere the people of the community can come and chill,” Vazquez tells What Now Los Angeles.
