Mes Amis, a new French restaurant, is coming to Hollywood later this year, located at 1541 Wilcox Ave.

The new restaurant comes from the highly touted Los Angeles chef Lincoln Carson. Before this, Carson made a name for himself through his other restaurant, Bon Temps, in the Arts District before closing down because of the pandemic. A little over a year later, the chef makes his triumphant return to Hollywood, with Mes Amis expected to open in Fall 2021.

Mes Amis is part of a larger project backed by the Relevant Group and Ten Five Hospitality. The two groups have plans to overhaul other parts of the Thompson Hotel, where Mes Amis will be. The area itself is going through some major developments, specifically the Citizen News Building next door. A new restaurant called Mother Wolf will be moving into the Citizen News Building this fall as well.

Chef Carson is an award-winning pastry chef who spent eight years as the corporate pastry chef of Mina Group. His new restaurant will offer French flavors inspired by the cafes and brasseries in Paris and Lyon. Along with the French inspiration, Carson says his menu will be a more California “reinterpretation” of the classics. Carson plans on using Southern California produces found at Hollywood’s Farmers’ Market. Although there are little details regarding the dishes themselves, guests can expect an upscale casual elegance with a strong dessert menu and an extensive cocktail and wine list.
