Chop Stop, the local micro chain that offers “more than a salad,” is expanding to an overall 27th location in Downtown Los Angeles, located at 750 W. Seventh St.
Their newest location, the 16th in Los Angeles County, will sit within the Macy’s at The Bloc. Chop Stop has several locations scattered around the outskirts of Los Angeles, but none as central as this location. The newest location will be franchised by Elisa Montalvo and George Younan. Despite delays, Younan says they hope to start construction for the new restaurant by January 2022.
Chop Stop started in 2011 under Joey Gonzalez and Mark Kulkis, and it became a huge success in Southern California. The company began to open new locations every year following their flagship location. Then, in 2016, the duo opened the first Franchise Training Center Restaurant in Glendale 2016 and started to expand even greater through franchising.
As for their menu, the restaurant focuses on providing customers with healthy alternatives that will actually fill them up. Each salad weighs in at over a pound on average and can include over 40 fresh toppings to choose from. Chop Stop takes pride in giving customers more for their money by providing competitive advantages such as lightning-fast service, delicious dressings, effortless delivery, and healthy options.
“For me, the key is to chop all the ingredients really fine, so the flavors and textures combine in every bite,” Kulkis said on their website. “I also like a lot of ‘stuff’ in my salads such as meat, cheese and fun toppings like fried onions. I made them the way I wanted to eat them.”
