Erin Crenshaw happened to grow up in the Crenshaw neighborhood of Los Angeles, and decided to open Crenshaw’s Chicken Spot after learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business while cooking at her parents’ eatery, Little Kingston Jamaican Restaurant.

“I was inspired by my parents, they have their own restaurant right now. I was definitely inspired by them, just being on the business side of everything and just learning a lot, it made me want to try it out myself,” Crenshaw told What Now Los Angeles. “I think wings are great finger food. Sunday nights you buy a lot of wings or have a party when there’s a game or something, something that you eat with your family. It’s something that you eat with a group of people — you eat wings with your friends you eat with your family.”

Starting in mid-February, the pop up will be set up on weekdays at the intersection of Crenshaw Blvd. and Stocker St. and at the Crenshaw Farmer’s Market at 3333 W 43rd Pl. in Leimert Park on weekends. Initially, Crenshaw will just carry french fries and three wing varietals — buffalo, barbecue and jerk wings inspired by her parents’ restaurant. Crenshaw said that she will develop different flavors as time goes on.

Crenshaw said that catering and delivery for large groups will also be available.
