A new family-owned restaurant called Dos Besos is coming to Pasadena, located at 99 E. Union St.

The new 900 square-foot space will be used to transform the family’s private catering business, known as Villa Paella, into their first brick-and-mortar. Owner Alejandro Llobet aimed to open the restaurant by Summer 2021 but has yet to do so. Customers can expect the new restaurant to open by the end of the year if all goes to plan. The restaurant will feature specialty paellas, a vast wine selection, and several vegan options.

The new Spanish cuisine restaurant will move into the former home of Crepestudio, right in the heart of Old Town. This area is full of trendy restaurants and interested foodies, making it an excellent location for its first storefront. Other great restaurants in the area include MAMA M Sushi, Copa Vida, and Tacos 1986.

Chef Llobet started has been serving his specialty paellas through his catering company since at least 2017. Although the new Dos Besos doesn’t have a website or any social media, Llobet has been giving insights into what he will serve on Villa Paella’s Instagram for years. Once Dos Besos opens, customers can expect various Spanish dishes, including grilled octopus salad, empanada gallega with avocado, fideua, and gazpacho andaluz.
