Rossoblu has announced that it will close this year. It will mark the end of nearly a decade in the community. The restaurant also announced plans for a new concept at the space.
Rossoblu to Close After Nearly a Decade in LA
Rossoblu is a well-known and highly regarded Los Angeles restaurant, particularly among the city’s Italian-dining scene. It earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction from 2019 through 2023, was ranked No. 10 on Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants list, according to Los Angeles Times.
The restaurant announced that it will be closing on November on social media.
The restaurant wrote in its announcement, “Thanks to our incredible team and all of you, it became so much more. Which is why this is so hard to write: Rossoblu will serve its final regular dinner service on Sunday, November 1.”
In the announcement, the restaurant reflected on its years in Los Angeles and encouraged customers to visit before the end of regular dinner service. With just two months left to go, the restaurant plans to celebrate this period with local diners.
The restaurant clarified that November 1 will be its final regular dinner service, although private events and special dinners will continue through the end of the year.

What’s Next and the Community’s Response
A new concept is planned for 1124 San Julian St. after Rossoblu ends its regular dinner service. The restaurant has not yet shared details about the new concept. While the announcement does not go into detail, it leaves customers excited despite Rossoblu’s closure.
Chef Steve Samson and his wife, Dina Samson, opened Rossoblu in 2017. The restaurant combines Bolognese cooking with Los Angeles ingredients and influences. The menu features handmade pasta, Bolognese specialties, housemade salumi, wood-fired and grilled meats, and Italian wines.
The restaurant is known for its striking interior and large industrial space. It features an open kitchen, a large grill, a bar, and a mural by the CYRCLE Art Collective.
Longtime customers shared their reactions on social media upon receiving the news of Rossoblu’s closure. Some showed their disappointment while others wished the team well for its next venture.
