According to a recent Recreation and Parks Commission summary, Don Andes – the restauranteur behind Lonely Oyster and Little Joy – will be taking over the Echo Park Lake Boathouse. Andes beat out another RFP submission for the space and will sign on for an initial two-year term if all goes according to plan after the commission’s May review.

The commission ultimately decided on Andes’ proposal based on the fact that his was “the most responsive and qualified” and because he already operates two businesses in Echo Park. Not much else is known about the new project at this time, but if it’s anything like Lonely Oyster and Little Joy, we can expect fresh seafood and craft cocktails.

Andes did not immediately respond to WNLA’s request for comment.
